4 Sides Or 6 Sides?

Which ring do you find better? A 4 sided ring or a 6 sided ring?

From the beginging, wrestling promotion have always used a 4 sided ring, today in Mexico and in some American wresting promotions the use of a 6 sided ring is also used.

Do you think that the 6 sided ring is the new wave of the future or just another fad that will not catch on to most audiences and disappear?

i lke the 6 side better the ring is bigger wider and makes for better moves for ex:the pounce done by monty brown looks better in tna's 6 sided ring but it looks weak on ecw's 4 sided ring cause the ring is smaller and no room for full impact

Well I don't find the number of sides in a ring important when I'm watching wrestling but I'll give my take on the subject.

I consider four sided rings more traditional and six sided rings as a way of changing it up. Six sided rings might offer a new concept in matches and such.

But wateva I don't got much to say about the matter but my own personal opinion is 4 > 6.

Yeah I fear change. One of the reasons I don't like TNA is because frankly I think the ring looks stupid that way. Granted they are trying something new but it's just something I don't like.

Plus, in my opinion, I think the action moves more smoothly in a 4 sided ring anyway. You don't have to worry about all the different angles.

I think it would be harder from somebody from a 4-sided ring to go to a 6-sided ring. It's too many angles, and lots of ways to push of. Also, you can probably do more crazy moves.

Six Sided rings are a lot better if you don't want dead time in the ring, which soothes the fast-paced wrestlers. AAA has six sides and AAA is much better than WWE, so Six sides for my vote, unless you like those slowpokes Undertaker and Batista walking around in a ring :lol:

A six sided ring is a pretty good concept. It took me a while to get use to wrestling in a six sided ring. But after you get use to it, it becomes a real treat!

In my honest opinion I prefer both. Traditional (4) and Something New (6).

Why should all wrestling have to be in a four sided ring. Let's change things up a bit!

on the "a 6 sided ring you can do more stuff" no you cant, as you can only use one turn buckle or set of ropes at a time to begin with, so it doesn't matter if it has 4, 6, or even 8 (which is out there now I believe)

On the part about the 6 sided ring making it a faster paced match, its not. If you want a faster paced match you go to an 18 foot ring, you don't get a larger ring. You want the shorter distance to run so you get there quicker making it faster paced match. with TNA being "X" division you would think they would want the 18 foot ring for the fast paced part.

There is no advantage to having a 6 sided ring from the wrestling side of it.

I think TNA does it maybe to be different, but that may turn new viewers off as they see its not a 4 sided ring and thats what they weren't looking for when flipping through channels.

Also i think TNA does it to take up room so its less seats they have to try to fill, as they are giving them away for free its not like they are losing ticket money on that. I believe thats also why they have the 2 entrances, its easier to fill the arena.

So all in all I vote the 4 sided ring over the 6 sided ring

4 sides is better. It worked for years and years, so there is no reason to change it. 6 sided rings is for mediocre promotions that are just trying to draw attention to themselves.

the 6 sided ring in that spanish wrestling the AAA looks alot bigger than tna's or wwe's see if you can find the dimensions for that ring

Much like Ray I dont care about how many sides a ring has, if the wrestlers can make it work then that's what matters to me. I dont think the fact that TNA has two extra sides is that big of a deal, personally I dont find the ring an attention drawer, maybe when you first see it yeah. I prefer 4. Ive been raised with watching wrestling in a 4 sided ring and watching anything different makes me wander off in my own little world easily. Im more of a traditionalist.

the wwes 20ft ring compared to tnas 15ft hexagon i think the amount of room is close.

its easier to play to a crowd in square ring

I think both are great ideas. The 4 sided is so traditional you have to use it, but the 6 sided rings are a nice bit of variety that jazzes things up a little.
