Matt cause he's going nowhere and could actually do very well if he was given a better charachter. The fans go wild for him. He's really really over. Kennedy, cause he will be a ratings wonster soon, he is almost "Rock quality" right now. He could be huge after this win. And CM Punk, again, very over and can make WWE alot of $

^ win or lose the match, CM Punk and Kennedy will be main eventers by the end of 2007 even if they don't hold their brands titles. If Matt wins the match, then it would really put him over with the fans (main event over) and could possibly give him the opportunity to turn on the fans and become a top of the list arrogant heel.

Punk winning this match would give fans more reason to keep cherring for him. Losing may make people think "Well "ECW sucks and now Punk hasn't won this, will he ever become anything big? I can't see a reason to maintain my interest in this guy" If you don't give your potential stars that one big kick up the ass to superstardom people will lose interest.

^ with the ECW originals apparently leaving after Wrestlemania I think that a punk push is bound to happen. Punk will win 7 minute a match on ECW the show after Wrestlemania and they'll act like he did his best but just came up short. I'm in the same boat as you as I am now looking for reasons (other than his past) to cheer for punk

Alot of fans are going to find it hard to get into Punk if he doesn't win a big interbrand match like this. This is the perfect chance to make himself really look like a player in the WWE. Pretty much everyone can see how inferior this new ECW is to the bigger brands. It's a mess and no one seems to care. It has 2 storylines on the show. Will Punk join the NB and ECW Vs the NB. Punk needs the big win to make people think "ahh, he isn't just a big fish in a small pond. He really can hang with the bigger superstars" Punk will get his push, but winning MITB would be the best way to do it He can cash it in any time during the year so there will always be alot of attention on him and when he chooses to cash it in it would have a lot more impact than if he just started main eventing on "ECW". ECW just has no big names and gets piss poor ratings. The MITB win could also move Punk to Raw or evenb better SD with a genuine reason in kayfabe and non kayfabe.

^ It would also be good for the ECW program as they can do storylines with punk putting it on the line and punk threatening to use it. I can see him making quite an impact on the overall product of the show. It is really obvious that WWE don't care about ECW but they could surprise me. Punk winning could be the surprise that will get me watching ECW instead of reading how bad it is and writing about its low quality

I am a huge Punk mark so I will say the he needs to win it. He's the best overall wrestler out of the 8 and he is over with the crowd. Having him winning it would be a very good move for WWE; he could make them a lot of money. If he wins they could move him out of the SciFi channel and place him on Smackdown or even Raw. Hopefully, he wins, making him a main eventer and the WWE allows him to demonstrate more of his amazing moveset. So on April 1st, I will be cheering for CM Punk. :cheer

I think Jeff Hardy needs to win this because frankly they have nothing for him. Hardy is a mid-carder and could take a little bump up to fame and fortune nicely. Face it, he is useless without the IC title around his waist. What has he done since Umaga squashed him about a month ago? What can he do?

There's not much left for Hardy unless they team him back up with Matt. The fans like him and I think he could play a good underdog kind of character going for the a Title. Hell if anything, have him go over to ECW and then move Punk to RAW.

Jeff Hardy becaasue he needs that exrra little push to be in the WWE title scene. He's done it all really apart from have the big title. He has the wrestling skills and the fans behind him. He needs to improve on his mic skills though...

Within the last 7 months, Edge, Booker, Kennedy and Finlay have either challenged for the title or been a champion. So there is really only 4.
