Natalie Neidhart, a third generation wrestler and daughter of former WWE Superstar Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, has signed a developmental deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

As the first female from the legendary Hart family to join the company, Natalie told WWE.com that she’s “really excited about working with WWE. It has always been a dream. Wrestling is a huge part of who I am; I grew up in a wrestling family and WWE was always around me, so now I’m finally on the inside looking out.”

She isn’t the only one looking forward o her WWE opportunity; in fact, one WWE Hall of Famer has been a true source of inspiration for her.

“Uncle Bret [Hart] and I are very close, and he is really, really happy for me,” she said. “He has been extremely supportive and I am lucky I can turn to him. Bret has been through every event and situation and his advice has been great.”

How does The Anvil himself feel about his daughter’s new vocation?

“My dad at first was pessimistic, but now he is really looking forward to it. He had fun when he was in WWE, and now he can relive those glory days through my career.”

Natalie will find herself in very good company with her cousin Harry Smith, son of the British Bulldog, also recently signed with WWE.

“Harry has inspired me so much," she revealed. “We'll both continue working hard not to let anyone down, especially my grandfather [Stu Hart], Owen and Davey. They're no longer around to share in these moments, but I know they're still here with Harry and me."

Natalie Neidhart comes from a long line of Superstars who have not only held numerous WWE titles, but have also been trained in the historic Hart Dungeon.

“Chris Benoit, Bret Hart, Dynamite Kid, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, my dad...they all trained there. My grandfather's home was such a big part of our lives. If you come out of the dungeon and have wrestled on those mats, learned from the people I learned from, then already you have climbed a mountain; but now there is another mountain to climb, and that is WWE,” she continued. “Being a woman from the dungeon I feel I will add more grittiness to the women’s division. But as important as it is to be great in the ring, it’s just as important to be sexy.”

Then there’s the roster of WWE Divas she’s joining – a mix of femme fatales she describes as genuinely unique.

“Divas are involved in a business where they are always traveling, always have to look good, and always have to be on their game," she explained. "People don’t realize how difficult it really is to get in that ring and wrestle. It’s challenging and the ladies are under a microscope. Trish [Stratus] pushed herself and became one of the best, and Maria is currently doing the same. All the Divas are fighting to prove that they can handle themselves, and I’m excited to add to that.”

Natalie Neidhart expects ups and downs in the business, but she will keep one piece of advice very near to her heart as she ventures into WWE.

“As Uncle Bret told me, ‘it’ll be a long ride but it’ll be a fun ride. Stay strong and true to who you are, do what you love, and your personality will shine through.’ That's what a WWE Diva needs to do, shine.”

It's that kind of excitement Natalie hopes will make an impact at WWE, and carry on the family name with pride and perseverance.

“Through all the things that have befallen our family, wrestling ironically is what kept our family going," she said. My grandfather felt the same way. I’m honored that the torch he passed on to his children has now passed onto us, from Stu, down to Bret and Owen, to me and Harry. It’s been a long time coming, and I couldn’t be happier.”

If you are talking about the second attempt, then she wasn't supposed to, she was actually supposed to be pinned on the first one, but like I said Melina lost her balance and pulled Maria's shoulder off the mat so the ref couldn't count her out, and that's what led to the second and weaker looking pin

It's only because Maria is attractive that people make a big deal over her. If it was me or someone less attractive, no one would care about how 'hard' she tries and would want her off TV.

If Maria desperately wants to be a wrestler (I very much doubt it) she should leave and get trained. Just like all the other girls are/did. Then once she can put on a good match, she can come back.

It just annoys me how these girls are being put over by talented women. For eg. Jillian lost to Ashley. There are clueless people in the audience and they're going to believe Ashley is the real deal, when she is far from it. They're making women look pathetic. Guys are going to think 'psshh women can't wrestle for shit, oh but she has nice tits so who cares?' I've seen and heard comments like that before and it hurts me because it's not true. But seeing we have women like Maria and Ashley compeating in WWE matches (WWE is the most known and watched wrestling company in the world) with very limited skills (if any), people are just going to give up and accept the fact that women can't wrestle.

Anyway Fran, you covered most of what i would say in a post.

And as you mentioned earlier, divas like Maria do have a great work ethic, that in itselft deserves great respect. She is working hard, even Kelly Kelly has been getting in the ring, and that deserves respect as well, just as much respect as Lita. Lita may be better, but some of these girls are trying just as hard, if not harder than Lita, or Trish, or even Nattie. For someone like Nattie, wrestling is in her blood, she has a natural advantage, Shelly Martinez has known she wanted to be a wrestler since a young age, so she's had more time to prepare, they all have distinct advantages as far as training goes, so really, Maria, Ashley, and Kelly all got great contracts at young ages, so I'd say they're a bit ahead of the game.

WWE chooses their wardrobe for them, so it's not their fault for wearing what they do

And to answer your question, she was sent back because they lost the chance to push the gimmick they had with her ( obviously because of the injury, but also because of Trish retiring), and since the whole Trish "bringing her in" storyline can't be continued the creative team haven't been able to come up with any other storyline (go figure)

First about the wardrobe, the only people who have control over what they wear to the ring are the Veterans, HBK, HHH, Taker and even Trish and Lita by the end of their run, but when they first come in the WWE chooses for them what their gimmick will be which includes the clothes they wear, hell they change their names if they see fit

And as far as moveset, they tell them to do the moves that they can do without injuring themselves when they are being trained, so since Ashley has shown that she can perform a headscissors take over they tell her to do it, since the writers and agents script the matches and not the wrestlers themselves
Do you honestly think that Benoit wants to be watered down like he is and have to do the same moves over and over, the writers and agents want him to do that cause it will make other wrestlers look credible, Benoit is an actual walking wrestling encyclopedia and could put to shame virtually everyone on the entire WWE roster

First of all, what about the Divas who can wrestle well that have been in playboy, do you not respect them as well? And as far as the 'whore' thing, since no one here knows them, why not give them the benefit of the doubt, thats generally the fair thing to do.

But again, someone like Nattie has wrestling in her family, that has a distinct advantage, they need to use wrestlers like Jillian & Nattie to put over wrestlers like Ashley who aren't quite as good in the ring. It's called building up credibility. And they're trying in the ring, thats all that matters, you can hate them all you want, theres certain male wrestlers I dislike, Cena and Batista included, but I respect the fact that they get in the ring, who they are outside of the ring, and what training they've had opposed to someone else shouldn't matter, especially since they don't really have time to train. Why would Maria or Ashley give up being on Raw or Smackdown where they are quite successful now, to go to OVW when they aren't being forced to? They all have extremely busy scheduals so it's rather difficult to train in your spare time. WWE clearly wants them on the main roster, it's not their fault. They're doing a good job at what they're supposed to be doing.
