My favorite gimmick was created by accident, The Crippler Chris Benoit, given to him by Paul Heyman after Benoit broke Sabu's neck in the original ECW

The Sandman's cig smoking, beer drinking gimmick rules. Well its not actually a gimmick thats how he really is just like New Jack. I remember fans chugging their beers with Sandman. How do you get an audience more rowdy? Paul E. was a genious by letting wrestlers be themselves and let them do what they want and/or be creative with their character.

yea man like when RVD & Sabu fought this past tuesday it kinda makes you wonder if Paul Heyman pulled them both aside when Mcmahon or no one was lookin & said hey you do what you want in the ring but we want RVD to win at the end. ahhhh the good ol days

Sandman - Let's face there is nothing funnier than watching a wasted guy trying to wrestle.

Original DX

Cactus Jack/ Mankind - I always found mankind hysterical back in the day especially the promos where he tried to rhyme or make a poem. Plus Cactus Jack was just great cause he was an all out hardcore wrestler, he liked delivering punishment just as much as he liked taking it.

Sabu - He sort of has that mad man I'll do anything to win sort of attitude, plus he's homicidal, geonicidal, and suicidal what's not to love?

Ministry (Goth) Undertaker

Early WWE Chris Jericho - he had that sort of "I'll do whatever the hell I want" attitude plus he was funny on the mic (mispronouncing Benoit's last name on purpose, making the term assclown popular, and of course making fun of steph on a regular basis).

PUKE.

I love Ric Flair's current gimmick. It's given some funny moments like when he got out of his Limo with 3 hot women and his trunks half way down his ass.

Kane (with his mask on) was a great gimmick

The dudley Boyz ECW Gimmick was awesome. They got so much heat members of the audiance would actually try to fight them.

Brock Lesnar also had a great gimmick (Okay his a twat in real life but his gimmick was cool). I remember the one time he got so angry he gave himself a nosebleed and threw the ringsteps half-way across the arena lol

-The Original NWO was great. Two of the industries badasses teaming up with the biggest star there'd ever been to takedown wrestling as we knew it. They had a great collective look (that logo owns), they were really cool, and they had great menace. Then they decided they needed 35 members. Just like Tarkin decided not to evacuate in his moment of triumph.

-Stone Cold, right after Austin 3:16 and through his fued with Taker, was the only thing that could squash the badass cred of the NWO. He seemed real. He didn't just seem like a gimmick. It looked like there were wrestlers and tehn there was this redneck rebel that walked in through some side door and started doing the stunner on everyone who crossed his path, drank a few kegs of beer a night, and walked out as champion.

-The Undertaker himself is arguably the best in terms of a gimmick. You can't beat it. He'd arguably even get cheered over Hogan these days. Hulkamania's immortality is questionable when compared to Taker's staying power. That first bell usually gets one of the biggest pops of the night. By the time he's beaten an openent, the fans are just lost in it.

-The Cerebral Assassin thing Triple H has got is just great stuff. You really buy into him evil enough to want to destroy someone's life so he can have that belt. He seems like he'll always be there, whether with back up or just his sledge, to chase that title and go apeshit on whoever has it. A man obsessed and with no morals whatsoever.

-Jake "The Snake" Roberts was something else. He should be kept around to simply tell the new guys how to cut a promo and how to sell a story. Jake was probably the best actor they ever had there because there was something enthralling and captivating about his promos. He wasn't quite as supernatural as Undertaker but this guy was somehow still evil incarnate and even as a face was badass incarnate. Kinda funny cuz he put over Taker and Austin. He never even wanted the belt, he'd just pick a victim and put on an amazing program with him.

-"The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase was, first and foremost, a great heel. The level of douche within that man was unparalleled. He embarassed little kids, was dirty as all hell in matches, knew how to sell excellenly and look like his ass was getting handed to him like never before, he had a hateable as hell personality, and used money to do very memorable things. He bought the Undertaker, Andre the Giant, and a whole mess of others to do his bidding and even stole the Championship at one point. He was like Undertaker in that he was an unquestionable force (just as Taker is always gonna be coming back from the grave, Ted will always return with new hired guns) that came out, drew the heat you needed to make it look like fighting him was gonna be a challenge for the other guy, and proceed to put him pretty far over.

-Mr.McMahon. After years of loveable backstage leaders like Gorilla Monsoon coming out and making everything right, Vince gave us the Lex Luthor of wrestling. Uncontrollable, unstoppable, and unrelenting; he had nothing to prove aside from just how much power he had. He didn't want a belt or a victory. He just wanted to show you that if he decides he's gonna put you on the ass end of a 5 on 1 handicap match, he can do it and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Just as in life, if he wants you to drop the belt to Shawn Michaels, it's gonna happen and there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it.
