I dont know about heavyweight champ, RVD held the TV title exactly 700 days! Thats 30 days short of 2 years, AND he only lost the title due to injury! Now thats what i call a champion.

Ric Flair held the belt 16x, but he also lost it 16x. He is a great champion, but not the best. I am not sure that they're the best, but my favorite champions were The Rock, Stone Cold, and Sting. The best champion might be RVD, but not world champion. The best may be Hulk Hogan, I hate to say it because I don't like him, but he may have been the best. The Rock and Stone Cold as my close second.

John Cena the controversial wrestler. Look at it this way you may not like him but at least people are watching and paying attention to him.

Attitude Era - Triple H Greatest Champion of Today
Pre Attitude Era - Bret Hart
Golden Age (80's) Era - Ric Flair
Silver Age (Pre 80's) - Brumo Sammartino
Thats how i break it down
I have been watching Wrestling since Wrestlemania 3
All time greatest champion - Triple H
My reasons
Most Watched champion (Edge is hardly the most watched )
Does his job day in day out ( unlike Hogan who its all about money )
True student of the game
He is the next Ric Flair ( I really liked that they had him take some of flair's gimmick of suits and style and merged it with HHH's ) .. except more popular on a global scale
Really it comes down to the whole dedication to the business . I am not a fan of a wrestler using WWE or WCW or stuff like that as a springboard to Hollywood something else . **
I say it cheats the fans out of a superstar wrestler and entertainment . HHH has tried for Hollywood roles true but he always comes back to WWE for the show in general . Or Storylines it that he is out for awhile .
I may be a huge Bret Hart mark but I would have to say HHH is better than him . HHH is the best there is , the best there was and currently is the best there ever will be .
If Bret Hart could of let by gones be by gones after a few years and swallow his pride and see it from Vince's side earlier (before Goldbung kicked him in the face ) he could of been the greatest champion of all time .
Ric Flair could of been the greatest if he was more know around the world .. Hell I followed wrestling since the 80's and I didnt know of Flair till I started seeing WCW on television around 1994 or 1993 .. Not 100% of the date since it was a long time ago .. It was just crappy shows .. 16 times a winner 16 times a loser as well
Bruno .. well he was phenomanal from what I have seen on tapes and DVD's but his claim to fame was just he held the title really effing long ..
**
Note the Hollywood comment :
In some people's case it is acceptable
Retired wrestlers who have retired years ago it is acceptable
Wrestlers who are already actors in the first place ( Kevin Nash Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles )
Muhammad Hassan - He is an exception to the rule as well .. awesome character and wrestler bad timing to have that character . I am sure everyone would agree they would rather see him go do his thing in hollywood than have him go though a retarded storyline and why he isnt Muslim American .
Rock and Hogan .. FUCK YOU ..

Definitley Bret Hart. If he never left WWE he would have had as many titles as HHH. He also would have been able to do it without marrying the bosses daughter. I mean HHH is a good wrestler but the marriage to Stephanie really helped his career.

Triple H had already won the title but the WWE wouldnt have been on this quest to have him get 17 titles and pass Ric Flair. You know he wont retire until he passes Flair's mark. Im not trying to take anything away from him though. He is a great wrestler and one of the most carismatic of all time. WWE would be nothing without him.

There were alot of great wrestling champions out there but its definitely Triple H. Bret Hart, Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels would also be included within the attitude/1994-2000 era, The Rock wasnt really a champion in terms of titles he never won much compared to HHH and Stone Cold. Ric Flair easily was dominant in his time in the 80s but he doesnt seem to be 100% recognised for it compared to Triple H and Bret Hart who spark more controversy. Bruno Sammartino was also really good around 25 or something years ago, however only a true wrestling fan would know that. It seems that everybody these days know Stone Cold, Triple H, The Rock, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels because they are/were the icons of WWE. Because Triple H is still in it and has been in it since 1994 (so for 12 years now), he has surpassed the legacy of Bret Hart. However, Bret Hart deserved fucking better than what happened to him in Montreal .. otherwise the hitman would have definitely been the champion.
Alot of wrestlers have their own recognition to make them look better:
The Rock - the most electrifying man in sports entertainment
Triple H - the 10 time heavyweight/wwe title winner
Stone Cold - the texas rattlesnake, with alot of popularity and is said to be the greatest champion
Ric Flair - 16 time world heavyweight title winner
Hulk Hogan - Inducted in the hall of fame and one of the most recognised icons in wrestling history.
Mick Foley - The Greatest Hardcore Champion.
Chris Jericho - The #1 undisputed champion.
ohh the list just goes on boasting on whos the best....

I agree with most of your picks, however I don't think HHH was a better champion than Stone Cold when it comes to the Attitude era. Stone Cold dominated everyone including HHH, HBK, Bret Hart, and The Rock.
