View Full Version : Hulk Hogan's Wrestlemania 23 Opponent?

As The Immortal One only wrestles twice a year now, Summerslam and Wrestlemania, I ask who would you like to see him wrestle on the grandest stage of all. I know the dream match would be Austin vs Hogan but we have to be realistic here. We've already had Hogan vs HBK, The Rock, Randy Orton and now there's talk of him wanting to face the Big Slow as it will have been 20 years since he slammed Andre at Wrestlemania 3. I say if we can't have Austin/Hogan what about Legend vs Legend, Hogan vs Flair (one last time) or Hogan vs Cena in Old School vs New School?
I don't know, I'm not for the Ric Flair vs. Hogan idea. I think that time has passed and reliving it isn't necessary. As far as Cena vs. Hogan goes, nope. How about we keep Hogan off of Wrestlemania this year. Yeah, I know, never going to happen, but we can all hope.
martykelman
09-22-2006, 08:20 PM
Who would you have him face then or would you just have him do a small promo? Maybe induct someone into the Hall Of Fame, Macho Man Randy Savage perhaps, like that would ever happen!
Haha, yeah, Hogan inducting Macho Man, that'd be great to see. But I'd rather him do a promo rather than a match, because we know if he's in a match, he's winning, so just give him a mic so he can preach to his Hulkamaniacs brother, and everyone's happy. Hogan gets time in the ring, and we don't have to suffer through another Hogan match.
martykelman
09-22-2006, 08:34 PM
True, come to think about it Hogan vs Cena would be awful. Cena can't sell for shit and both of them use the same moveset no matter who they face.

that would be very stupid on the part of WWE if they let hogan walk on taker's record. undertaker worked hard all these years to build that record and his fanbase only to have it destroyed by some punk-ass old bastard with an even more limited moveset than he used to have?
and i thought cena breaking edge's tlc record was terrible.
if it does come to pass that hogan and show will wrestle at WM, i certainly hope hogan gets a serious hernia when attempting to slam show.
about a cena-hogan match, no one's gonna work between them during the match. they both need to wrestle against great wrestlers to have a decent match at least. but it'll be good for the fans to see just how much limited those two are and they'd be exposed. it'll make the rounds on youtube as worst match ever, and we'd be laughing at it for years to come. :)

i think hogan assumes that all hulkamaniacs don't like austin. i would reckon that's just his ego speaking. i think fans love austin more than hogan, especially now that his fans back then might have moved on to other things.
i'll modify my earlier statement. i hope hogan gets a serious hernia whoever it is he tries to body slam.
it would rate a 10 on the unintentional comedy scale if he gets a hernia from trying to slam someone like rey mysterio.

Austin would tear Hogan up. We might see Hogan as early as Survivor Series as a thank you to Vince for promoting Brooke's CD on WWE.COM. And Hogans last match will likely be at WM23. Im not his biggest fan, but I dont wish death or injury towards him. He's a great entertainer, and a household name. I wouldnt like Hogan vs Big Show- i cant see Hogan being able to knock Show around, and Big show would kill him if he chokeslamed him. Maybe a hernia or cardiac arrest or something.

I think Hogan wants the match to happen but on his terms, this means Austin isn't interested until Hogan gives up his creative control and puts it back in McMahon's hands which he surely must realise is best for the business. Besides I think there would be a f**king riot if Hogan beat Austin!

At the end of the day it doesn't matter who he faces, he will only wrestle if he wins to satisfy that massive ego not for the sake of the business. He so could have put over Randy Orton at Summerslam and it wouldn't have harmed his career. Taking a quote from HHH's interview with WWE Magazine: "I've yet to see Hulk Hogan lose to anybody. He wrestles once every six months, and it doesn't matter if you are the biggest name in in active competition today, he's not going to lose to you. There was supposed to be a Hogan/Michaels II, and Hogan was supposed to lose. All of a sudden his knee started "bugging him"."

Kane11

Well if we're allowing hopes and dreams. I'd like Hogan to be in a Tag Match.
Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels, versus Kane and Undertaker.
The Winner: Kane and Undertaker
Match results: Hulk and his damn hulkamaniacs dominated Kane in the beginning, until Taker was tagged in. Taker Booted Hogan. Then Hogan, barely avle to breath, tagged Shawn in. Shawn ran for Taker, and ran into a Boot. Shawn jumped up, and attempted sweet chin music, he missed and hit the referee. When the ref was half way up, Kane climbed over the ropes, he then Chokeslammed Hogan as he ran into the Ring. Taker and Kane both then delivered a double chokeslam to Shawn Michaels. Kane got out of the ring just as the ref got up. taker covered and got the win.
Of course, that would never happen. But I said, IF WE'RE PLAYING HOPES AND DREAMS. LOL

Ok, i would love to see Hogan v Taker, but it won't happen. Hogan won't want to lose, and Vinnie Mac is going to make sure that Taker retires undefeated at wrestlemania, cause it looks good on a hall of fame plaque. If they do Hogan v Big Show, they should have BIg Show come out as The Giant, not big show, or paul white. Either way, it will probably suck. No hogan at all would just about make my day.

Hogan needs to stop thinking that he still looks and wrestles the same since the 80's. If anybody steps into the ring with him at Wrestlemania then Hogan's gonna have control of the storyline and probably make himself win like always. I still wanna see Austin vs Hogan...just cause there's no way Hogan could win. Show vs Hogan is even more a joke if Hogan were to even try to lift Show up he would fall over.

hogan hbk rematch
I was watching the wrestling legends web-chat about Hogan and the way he works / inspires the crowd, and for that he does deserve credit. But he is not the wrestler he once was (and has'nt been for some 20'ish years), and in truth he really should retire from wrestling all together, any promo/manager/anouncer role would be ok. But seeing as this is about 'fantasy' matches with Hogan in, how about a tag-team of Hogan & Cena vs. K-fed & Umaga LoL or Hogan & Cryme Tyme vs Spirit Squad with guest ref of Austin :p

Hogan vs Austin would be a great rivalry, but maybe not a good match. Both of them cannot perform the way they used to (mostly on Hogan's part) and Austin hasn't had a real match in a few years. So I think if Austin trained he could put on a hell of a performace, and Hogan just don't have it in him anymore. But it is unlikely for this to happen, but then again WWE is unpredictable, and things could change in the coming months. Hogan will wrestle at WM23, and maybe it will be his last. I would like to see Hogan involved with WWE for a long time, I think if he is going to be at WWE, then he wants to wrestle some.

Actually Hogan wrestles 1 TIME a year. When was the last time you saw him wrestle at a WrestleMania? 3 yrs ago against Vince McMahon. Hogan wont be facing Big Show, because Big Show is having his last match on Dec. 6th 2006, and I don't know who or if Hogan will wrestle, but he can't take any bumps like an FU or chokeslam without injuring him.
