Divas as Champions?

Ok, I just wanna get your thoughts on divas becoming champions. Like if a diva was really talented and she could hold her own in the ring with guys, could she become a U.S. Champ, tag team champ or IC champ like Chyna. Cuz I believe that WWE looks down on the diva division as just eye candy rather than actual wrestlers. I think that there are some lady wrestlers out there who can become the next champ if given the chance and if talented enough.

What are your thoughts?

hell yes a diva should be champion. if she's talented enough to do it then she should be able to compete. theyre signed with the wwe which means, with the exception of a few, that they deserve to be there. girls like victoria and mickie james, could probably hold there own against some of the guys, in fact mickie james used to wrestle with guys when she was in ovw and tna and she won alot. to tell them they cant compete because theyre women is not only illegal but just ignorant. and some of them are more talented than alot of the guys anyways. give them a chance. plus its not really fair that they only have one belt to compete for, and the guys have like what 5? 6?

There isnt enough female wrestlers to do that, half of the divas in wwe arnt wrestlers plus it would take air time up other wrestlers could use like carlito, nitro, benjamin and so on.

Here' the thing...I really admire Trish, Victoria, Mickie, Beth, and maybe ashley, because they really show the whole world that, "hey we can be gorgeous, but we can still kick some ass." I see that obviously the Divas are there for the sake of drawing guys in to watch or keep watching the show to see the bra and panties match, for example. I could give a shit less if they have those matches once in a while, but the fact that they do this all the time(whereby all the divas do is do those provacative matches), is not only sickening(because it shows to men that women were made to please them only and they're nothing but sex objects), but annoying. This is why they're matches are shit up, because of the lack of talent. Vince picks up the girls for their looks and not their talent. Or if they have talent, but it's absolutley horrible, it's overlooked as if it's okay. What happened to the thought of, "okay they can be gorgeous girls(for the sake of bringing in male viewers), but they need some good talent. They at least need to know what the fuck to do in the ring." for the love of God, the WWE IS a WRESTLING empire. I don't understand why the WWE puts in the mindsets of guys everywhere that Divas out there are just for eyecandy. Why can't they wrestle like everyone else? Why can't they have more than one title to fight over? if the Divas can't have the male titles, why can't they make women vsersions of those type of titles? For instance, they have the Womens WWE championship, right? Why can't they have womens WWE tag team championships as well as womens world tag team championships? what about womens United States championships, or womens Intercontinental championships? Apparently the WWE think it's okay to have ONE title to bitch over and not several, that women to them are nothing but a bunch of hoes dancing around in the ring to get guy audiences "excited." I think it's time for some changes, because it's not fair to them(well, those who sometimes feel degraded). Some deserve some little respect, just like the Divas back in the early and mid 90s.

I believe you're also someone who supported the Brands merging in the other thread, well, that would mean even more wrestlers would have to be released, and would take up more valuable TV time. There are promotions for all woman wrestlers, watch those if you care that much about the woman wrestlers.

The guys would be pissed off their ass...and I for one...would love it!! It's all about ratings. And in the long run, those "stupid diva contests" bring in the ratings. It's actually quite smart when you think about it. And there is actual wrestling, as you said with Victoria, Mickie, Trish, etc., so there is really a good mix of everything.

Training the Diva's wouldn't hurt, but it's very unlikely, but I still think theres too many titles, and not enough TV time for the womans division to have it's own titles other than the womans championship.

Who said it's embarrassing them? Thats what some of them did before entering the WWE. And as far as the "Slut" and "Whore" chant, it's not because of the type of matches, it's because chances are, the fans don't like that particular diva.

Those type of shows are for not so much fan favorite wrestlers. I've always thought of them being "the other 2 unsuccessful brands". So why should the ones with talent go on there and the ones that use the WWE to get on the cover of playboy stay on RAW or smackdown? The WWE needs to figure out a way whereby they can put the non popular guy wrestlers ones on heat if the employer layout is important, and make some time for talented women wrestlers. Believe it or not, the types that DO wrestler, are the types that bring hope to young girls that want to be an athlete. I'm not saying me cuz I have a whole other occupation on my mind, but girls like my good friend. If the WWE continues to have regular Divas shake their ass in the camera more than they wrestle, then it gives the average Jane, a girl that respects herself, an idea that to be a Diva, you have to wear a short skirt to bring in some male audiences. apparently the WWE is slow when it comes to detecting people with steroids. We all know how long masters was taking steroids and it was like 3 months ago(or later) when they decided to suspend him for possession.
